FAQs

Who qualifies for a Pennsylvania medical marijuana card?

Patients must be diagnosed with one of the state’s approved medical conditions, such as chronic pain, anxiety disorders, PTSD, cancer, or multiple sclerosis. Our licensed providers will review your health history and confirm eligibility.

How do I apply for a medical marijuana card in Pennsylvania?

The process includes:

  1. Registering with the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Program at the PA Department of Health website.

  2. Completing a telehealth evaluation with one of our certified practitioners.

  3. Paying the state fee and receiving your card by mail.

Can I renew my Pennsylvania medical marijuana card online?

Yes. Renewals are completed via telehealth at NuCell Regenerative Health. You’ll meet virtually with a licensed provider, review your qualifying condition, and update/renew your certification.

How long does it take to get my card after certification?

Once approved, the state usually issues your card within 7–14 business days. We recommend starting early so you don’t experience a lapse in access.

What is the cost of obtaining or renewing a medical marijuana card?

Our certification fee for new patients is $175, renewals cost $75 for existing patients. The Pennsylvania Department of Health also charges a state card fee, which is typically $50 (with possible discounts for Medicaid/assistance programs).

Do I need to be a Pennsylvania resident?

Yes. Only Pennsylvania residents with valid proof of residency are eligible to participate in the state’s medical marijuana program.

What conditions qualify for medical marijuana in Pennsylvania?

The state recognizes more than 20 conditions, including anxiety disorders, autism, cancer, Crohn’s disease, epilepsy, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, PTSD, severe chronic pain, and others. Our providers will confirm whether you qualify.

Can I use insurance to pay for my medical marijuana card evaluation?

No. At this time, insurance does not cover medical marijuana certifications or renewals. Payment is due at the time of service.

How do telehealth appointments work?

You’ll meet with a NuCell provider online through a secure video platform or phone call. The process is private, HIPAA-compliant, and takes about 15 minutes.

What happens after I receive my medical marijuana card?

Once your card arrives, you may visit any licensed Pennsylvania dispensary to purchase medical marijuana products. Our NuCell team can also provide guidance on safe, effective use.
